Yes, I do ‘doir.
I DO shoot boudoir, lingerie, intimate, and private portraits! I’ve gotten a lot of interest in these kinds of photo shoots over the past few months from people wanting to present photos to their significant others as gifts, to models needing to add more to their portfolios, to… well… others who’ve simply told me “I’m not getting any younger and I’d love to have portraits of myself the way I look now/before I start a family.” Another request I’ve gotten is for more “natural” maternity portraits.
So sure, contact me about a personal portrait shoot and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have and work with you to schedule your shoot. These shoots are just as fun and relaxed as any other and I am wonderful at making people feel comfortable and know that they are working with a professional. If you request, arrangements for a professional makeup artist can be made.
I have one hard line policy toward any of these kinds of shoots: a third person must be present or accompany you to the shoot. This could be a friend, or significant other. If that cannot be arranged, my wife may be present. The third person does not have to be in the room at the time, but definitely on the premises.
Bring a friend who would also like a boudoir photo shoot and reduce any location cost of a unique hotel suite. Refer a boudoir shoot to a friend and receive a discount toward your next portrait shoot with me.
So take advantage of an open winter schedule and contact me about shooting these special portraits for you.

First Event of 2010
This year’s first event was a unique one. I got to partner up and shoot with Joy (http://www.joycheriephotography.com) who is a fantastic event and portrait photographer, to capture the 10 year celebration and wedding vow renewal of Robert and Debbie Brown in Richmond at Faith & Family Church (http://www.faithandfamilychurch.org).
The ceremony was beautiful and the fun and entertainment, even better. Event planning and decoration was done by Events Couture, LLC (http://www.eventscouturellc.com).
It was great working with Joy, and the two of us were able to completely capture the event and save one another major foot pain the next morning. With a wedding and 2 vow renewal ceremonies under my belt, I can not understate the benefits of having two photographers cover an event, both for the client and the photographer. Alone, you can only be in once place at one time, and any time there are ceremonies taking place, movement to cover things from different perspectives and angles might not be possible. But with two, coverage is limitless.
I had seen her work before but I had no idea what our final product would look like when all of the processing was said and done. I couldn’t have been more pleased. Our shooting styles and compositions really meshed well and resulted in a very creative, yet photographically consistent final gallery.
I can assure you that we’ll be working many events together in the future and I look forward to it. You’ll DEFINITELY want us for your event so make sure you’re on my calendar soon.

Not just portraits...

Don't get me wrong, I love doing portraits with people and there's nothing like when a person enjoys their shoot and enjoys their portraits even more.
But I could never be set in one area of photography. I love trying new things, experimenting, and learning new tricks. At my core, I love doing all kinds of photography with the only exception being candid street photography. I haven't given that much of a try but for me there's taking someone's photo...and then there's TAKING someone's photo. Not that I mind it for others, it just hasn't hit me yet as a genre I like to do.
But leading the way in terms of other photographs than portraits, is landscapes and wildlife. Yes, this Eagle Scout (yes, card carrying Eagle Scout) truly loves getting out in nature and capturing the beauty that God put before us on his own. A good sunrise satisfies the soul with piece and quiet. My trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks was truly a great, though short, moment in my life. Getting to capture the waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge on the west coast with Jill Morris was awesome. Then heading down the coast to Cannon Beach, shooting on the the eastern shore...all are thrills for me.
So make sure to check out a lot more of my landscape photography on my flickr site:

Enjoy!

PTaylorImages.com is now HERE!
At LONG LAST, www.ptaylorimages.com is now official. Tell a friend, tell a foe, tell someone that you don't know. I'm relieved that it is finally on the net for the world to see
After more than a year of complete indecision on what I wanted the site to look like, and torturing a developer for months on end about what I did and didn't want, and knowing zilch about web-development and hosting (sorry Matt), I finally just bit the bullet and got down to grinding through it.
I hope you like the site and would love to hear everyone's thoughts (well, not everyone, but most people). I welcome suggestions! I'll still be tweaking the site a bit more so check back often to see what might look different. Maybe your portrait will be featured.
Can't think of much else to say other than "It's been a long week so far and its only TUESDAY so please make my week and go check out the site!"

Getting Started!
I'm new to the blogosphere and I only hope that I'll be able to keep up and communicate what's new in the world of PTaylorImages. Photography is my love and passion. It took me 26 years to find it but now that I have, I'm not letting go.
I think I'll use this blog as a place to share where I'm going, and maybe a little bit about where I've been with photography in the past years, share what's new, communicate with other photographers I know (and hopefully network), and of course, post some work! I won't let go of my flickr site at all though.
One big announcement will be coming very VERY soon. Keep your eyes open!
Thanks,
Pete
